About Me

I am Emory Kaplan, a senior at Millburn High School in Millburn, NJ, with a love for writing, sports, and technology.

 

Five years ago, when I was 12, I made a deal with my father to go to Citi Field for game 3 of the 2015 World Series without tickets, but with the hope of buying something affordable at the last minute.

 

We failed.

 

But, as we were walking to the train station listening to Billy Joel sing the national anthem in the distance, a complete stranger approached and handed us two free tickets to see our favorite team win an incredible home game. 

 

It sparked my journey of placing myself into the path of opportunity.

 

I have always tried to combine my passion for sports through writing and covering events for my school's news network, Studio 462. I also had the extraordinary opportunity to cover the 2020 Men's Basketball Big East Tournament as a credentialed member of the media.
